Ideas for a Better Marion County

Ray’s Commitment to the People of Marion County

I pledge to reduce my County Commissioner salary. Currently County Commissioners are paid $74,500 in salary and receive a total of $87,612.29 in economic benefits based on the population of Marion County which only encourages population growth. I will not accept more than the average Marion County citizen's income of $31,000; this will encourage me to focus on increasing everyone's income.

I pledge not to accept the State of Florida Pension Plan. Elected officials should be servants of the people, not employees.  If you want a pension plan paid by the tax payers, go apply for a job as a Marion County employee.

I pledge not to accept Employee Benefits. Elected officials should be servants of the people, not employees.  If you want employee benefits (health insurance, etc.) paid for by the tax payers, go apply for a job as a Marion County employee.

Ray Strickland has a proven track record of creating and managing a growing business, controlling costs and providing quality service to customers.
