“Meet the Candidate Forum”; Ray Strickland, candidate for the
Marion County Commission District #5, will speak and answer
questions from the general public on Tuesday, May 13, from
5:30 to 7:00 PM. This will be the second in a series of
weekly forums to be held at Ocala Volvo, 4150 North Highway
#441, Ocala, Florida. The General Public is welcome to attend.
Ray Strickland is
challenging first-term incumbent Charlie Stone for the seat in
the Republican Primary to be held on August 26th. Strickland
will speak on his qualifications and the reason that he
believes a change of leadership on the Board of County
Commissioners is essential for the future of Marion County.
After listening to the
people Ray has developed a platform based on their priorities
of
Keeping our Economy Strong,
Decisive Servant Leadership, Protecting our Water, Better
Government - Fiscal Discipline, Accountability & Transparency,
and finally Planning for our Future.
Strickland has lived in
Marion County for 22 years and is a partner of Lossing
Strickland Insurance Group and owner of Benefit Advisors, an
employee benefits service company. He has been active in
numerous community organizations, including the EDC,
Ocala/Marion Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Kiwanis
Club.
